In 1742 during King Yonjo's reign in Joseon period, the fifth Buddhist generation of Samyung Daesa (the great monk Samyung) was searching for the great premier and noted confuncianists of the day to obtain an epitaph and letters, praised the record of Samyung Daesa's (the great monk Samyung) life-long performances and his unswerving royalty during Imjin Waeran (The Japanese invasion of 1592) on a black marble of a Gyeongjusan and performances, which is a monument that engraved merits and achievements of Seosan Daesa and Gihuh Daesa.
It shows a mysterious phenomenon where beads of perspiration runs down when the country is facing major crisis.
It is referred to hold sacred referring as wonderfully efficacious of Samyung Daesa concerned for the country even after he died, thus is called "A sweating stone".
